Augusta and Maggie Valley

What have we been up to recently?! Thanks for asking! The last weekend of March, we went to Augusta (about 2 1/2 hours east of Atlanta) to visit our newly-wed friends Melissa and Greg. It was my first trip to Augusta, and besides being in the middle of nowhere, I really liked it. The home of the Masters and James Brown...what more can a city offer? We had lots of fun: eating TONS of delicious food, staying up later than I had in months (4 am anyone?), strolling down the River Walk, posing with James of course (enjoy Greg's sideburns...and yes it was a joke, don't worry), and just relaxing. It was a great weekend...just what we needed.
The next weekend, Easter weekend, we headed up to Maggie Valley, NC, which is conveniently also 2 1/2 hours away, just north this time instead of east. My parents have a timeshare and had been spending the week up there, along with Amy, Jason and the kids. Friday night brought a definite surprise: snow! By Saturday morning, there was about 2-3 inches on the ground, which was a great shock for the Floridians, especially for Maddalyn and Emma. Saturday afternoon Mark and I went to a motorcycle museum with my parents. It was actually pretty cool. I liked the vintage cars more than the bikes (especially the one that was worth over $2 million) but the bikes were pretty sweet too. The coolest thing about them was that they all actually run (even this gigantic one!). Our unofficial tour guide from the museum was seriously stoked to show us these couches, which have the eagle logo from Anheuser-Bush on the back...he obviously didn't really know his audience that day, since the typical 20-something might find that cool. After the museum, Mark and I went to the gigantic Maggie Valley cinema (2 screens, anyone?) and saw Blades of Glory, which was hilarious. Glad to see our favorite receptionist on the big screen. Sunday was pretty relaxing: church, driving home, and Easter dinner at everyone's favorite place. It was a lot of fun to see my family, and to have another quick weekend away.
Besides those two weekends, we haven't really been up to anything too super exciting. But as soon as we are, I'll post again :)
